Common Quality Concerns in our Industry

Adhesion

We take extra care to make sure every decorated product passes adhesion standards before it leaves our facility. Here are a couple ways we achieve this:

Pretreatment for UV / Digital inks

We follow proper pretreatment protocol for our glassware prior to printing. Pretreatment is process by which a glass surface is prepares for bonding with the ink, using either a chemical primer or flame treatment. This allows the UV to adhere when traveling under the UV lamps.

Crosshatching for UV / Digital inks

Crosshatching is actual scoring into the ink after printing in a crosshatch pattern and applying a special tape to see if the ink pulls off with it. This is done as little as an hour after printing to several hours.

Dishwashing Durabilty

We use ASTM Cross Hatch Chart shown here to check grades to determine acceptable or not.

We are dedicated to the proper care and handling of our decorated products. While handwashing is the preferred method for preserving the longevity and quality of your decoration, we understand dishwashers are commonly used in everyday life.
